Job Description

General Summary:

Guidance & Patient Support (GPS) Insights is an industry-leading patient support analytics and insights team established to deliver core reporting needs and apply predictive/prescriptive insights that can be applied to continuously enhance the GPS experience for patients with cystic fibrosis (CF). The function is part of the GPS Patient Experience Team and it drives analyses that underpin this patient-focused department's data-driven and innovation culture. The team is responsible for both foundational data quality and reporting capabilities as well as identifying opportunities to link new data sets, automate dashboards for on-demand reporting, and produce tools to help optimize and prioritize workload.

The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for providing daily reporting, monitoring the quality of our data and resolving any issues, maintaining data definitions and governance, performing critical ad hoc analyses, and coordinating closely with cross-functional partners. This position will report to the Director of Commercial Analytics, CF Patient Insights.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Reporting and analysis around key metrics such as adherence, enrollments, initiations, time-to-fill, treatment status, etc.
  • Performing ad hoc or deep-dive analysis
  • Using shipment, CRM, and claims data to answer business questions and generate insights
  • Managing projects related to identifying and resolving data quality issues
  • Documenting data definitions to support team-wide understanding and utilization
  • Identifying areas of improvement for reporting, analysis, and data quality
  • Implementing systems enhancements for better tracking of metrics (includes working with IT and GPS Systems team members)
  • Supporting ETL data load and data transfer processes (working with IT)
  • Managing vendor and IT relationships
  • Developing presentations to be shared within GPS and with senior leadership
  • Working cross-functionally with other teams and departments within Vertex on analysis
  • Consistently ensures compliant use of patient data

  • Knowledge and Skills:
  • Experience with CRM systems such as, MS Excel (functions and pivot tables), PowerPoint, MicroStrategy, Tableau (or similar BI platform)
  • Understanding of data quality/data structures and methods of accessing data
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to multi-task and prioritize their workload
  • Works as a team player in diverse settings with a spirit of continuous improvement and innovation
  • Attention to detail, committed follow-through
  • Excellent communication skills; patient-centric and customer-service minded

  • Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree required; Masters Degree preferred or relevant years of experience in a quantitative, insights generating, or technology field
  • 1-3 years of experience working in data analysis
