We are searching for a VP of Technology to grow and expand our client’s technology practice. The VP will build a culture of all things digital, with established and emerging technologies, helping clients achieve their digital transformation goals in a way that digital is embedded in all aspects of the organization.



You are:

  • A trend spotter. You will build networks of people, organizations, and ideas to ensure they are constantly evolving and seizing opportunities to use technology to transform organizational effectiveness and improve human experiences with digital products.

  • Experience leading a practice area. You will need to be an expert in building the teams and processes to grow and scale a consulting team, spanning business development, proposal solutioning, staffing, and delivery.


Responsibilities
:

  • Serve as part of Executive Leadership team, setting and executing the strategic direction of the organization.
  • Advise on strategic direction to build and enhance capabilities in emerging technologies aimed at expanding service offerings and exploring new frontiers.
  • Create and embed a prioritization approach to develop a roadmap for innovation with the relevant processes, tools, and metrics to support business objectives and new growth opportunities.
  • Understand business objectives and goals; define the ways in which digital technologies can enable them and translate these ideas into multi-year strategies, consulting offerings, and project roadmaps that reflect their global business priorities of and its clients.
  • Work with senior leadership in support of business development.
  • Enhance and grow business in each of the areas – digital strategy, human-centered design, Agile development, emerging technologies, data analytics, strategic communications, organizational development, and learning.
  • You will participate in capture strategy activities, proposal development, design challenges, development of pitch decks, and delivering oral technical presentations to secure new business.
  • Identify and develop processes to improve the organization's overall operational efficiency and effectiveness, including corporate technology and IT team needs. Use data and information to drive necessary changes and optimize efforts.
  • Mentor and train team members to support their professional development and career path – Have a people absolutely-first mindset, including promoting and supporting corporate DEI goals.
  • Be accountable for developing a pool of solution architects to lead proposal work and delivery, serving as a solutions architect and/or advisor on the most complex proposals and projects, including guidance on the right tech stack, frameworks, and platforms.
  • Serve as an advisor to bridge the gap between business problems and technology solutions.
  • Ensure architectural adherence, quality standards, policies, and technology processes are fully met for all internal and client projects.


Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of proven experience working in the federal government or for government contractors, including intimacy with and experience applying the USDS Digital Services playbook and other relevant guidance (NIST security frameworks, 21st Century IDEA, USWDS, etc.)
  • A minimum of 15 years of related work experience in relevant positions of increasing scope and responsibility, including several years in a leadership role developing and managing teams.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Technical expertise among teams and government clients that are deploying products leveraging modern software development techniques (Agile, cloud-native, serverless, DevSecOps, containerization, microservice-architectures, automation, product management, etc.)
  • Proven commitment of defaulting to open-source technologies and promoting reuse of code, when applicable.
  • Exceptional technical ability, hands-on experience with design, development and implementation of IT systems, and translation of these experiences into consulting solutions.
  • 10+ years of consulting experience directing practice areas and teams in Agile software development environments with demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute successfully on business, product, and technical challenges.
  • 3+ years of experience in emerging technologies in a production environment (e.g. Artificial Intelligence (AI), Automation, Immersive, and/or Distributed Leger Technology, Edge, Advanced and/or Quantum Computing


Nice to Haves:
Master's degree in a related field.
